Making Homemade Tortillas

It's the 3rd day of SUMMER!!!!

Me & the kids decided to make our own Tortillas and it was surprisingly EASY!

We used a recipe from TastyKitchen

 The kids had so much fun rolling the dough into little round tortillas!

 Getting covered in flour was equally fun!

We made about 14 tortillas and they were so good we decided to make bean burritos & both kids ate an entire burrito! Wait till Daddy comes home, he will be so impressed with our culinary skills today!

Days like these are why summer is so great!

First Day of Summer!!

Aaahhh nothing better than yelling "Its SUMMER!" out my car window on a warm day, breeze blowing in my hair and the feeling of freedom in the air! YES it is summer and I think I am more excited than the kids but I don't care cause its Summer baby woohoo!!!

Our first day of SUMMER was fun we slept in, didn't really have anywhere to be well except that the lil MonkeyBoy still has 2 days of preschool but that doesn't really count it's still SUMMER!  Me & HorseGirl dropped him off and went to have lunch at Red Robin & wouldn't you know it we ran into friends and ended up sitting & eating with them to celebrate the occasion!  Then we went shopping, hence the crazy little girls in high heels, WHAT??? No way they looked way to cute in them so we made them take them off (after a few photos of course so that I can show DaddyDevan and give him a heart attack:) Then we had to pick up MonkeyBoy and get him donuts cause he was sad he missed all the fun!  Later when it got nice and cool we went on a bike ride and stayed out till the sun went down because it summer and we CAN!  Looking forward to many more days like this in our future!

MOPS Retreat

This weekend was our annual MOPS Retreat, where a group of us women get away from our kids & hubby's and go to a mountain cabin and sit around laughing, chatting, eating (we eat a lot), relaxing and planning our next year of MOPS.  This was my 4th Retreat and it was one of the best.  I got away from the family for a few days and got to connect with some amazing women who inspire me and challenge me to be a better Wife, Mother, Woman & Human being!  This year we were up in Big Bear, CA and this picture is the view from our cabin, breathtaking and serene!  I feel very blessed to be a part of this group and I am grateful for everything I have learned and how much I've grown in the last 4+ years!!!!

My sweet HorseGirl got the "Inspirational Student" Award at school!  Wow thats quite an honorable award and I am so proud of her and you should see how proud she is of herself.  Its the last week of school and its been a hard year for HorseGirl hence the reason we are Homeschooling next year.  A day like today makes me even more proud of her for sticking it out and finishing the year and I hope she knows just how truly inspirational she is to everyone in her life!

I love her more than words can express!

Homeschool Curriculum is HERE!

I am so excited to have all of our curriculum so early! God really answered my prayers when he sent a Homeschool angel into my life! Christy has been so encouraging and helpful and so on top of everything that she has put my anxieties at ease and LOOK she already has everything for us and HorseGirl isn't even out of school yet!  Me & MonkeyBoy had fun opening everything and looking at it and he even said he wants to start learning NOW! Too cute!  I am going to need to reign myself in and just relax and enjoy our summer before diving straight into this Homeschool journey that will start soon enough!!!!

I am starting my own blog and I am so excited about it!  I am hoping to document my life and my family and our new journey into Homeschooling that will begin soon!  I have been contemplating starting this blog for many months now and I finally got the nerve to just DO IT!  Who knows if anyone in blogland will even read it but thats okay its more for Me than for anyone else and I cant wait to see how this new season of life unfolds for me & my family!!!!!
